A look back at an eventful year for Abroad Films. Awards, international productions, long-form storytelling and commercials across Hungary, Bulgaria and beyond – and a warm hello to what 2026 has in store.

We kicked off the year with TUI’s Safety: A Global Film as it took home the Silver Award in the Travel & Tourism category at British Arrows 2025. Shot in Bulgaria, serviced by us for the amazing Missing Link Films.
Fun fact: we as Abroad Films also sponsored the Best Over 30 & Up To & Including 90 Second Commercial category this year, Attila got to hand over the award and everything. See you soon at British Arrows 2026!

After Shakespeare and Mozart, the Rise of a Genius series kept going, this year Jane Austen's drama-doc mini-series debuted on BBC. Serviced by us in Hungary with a wonderful Hungarian cast: Emőke Zsigmond, Adél Jordán, and Vivien Rujder!

We definitely had some fun in Bulgaria too: we serviced commercials for JBL ("Open Ears").
And another award we got this year: Ripples of Change: The Living Danube Partnership was a Finalist at this year’s Creative Circle Awards in the Short Film – Documentary category.
Serviced by us across Hungary, Bulgaria, and Croatia for WWF and The Coca-Cola Company, alongside agency Grey London, production company Anonymous Content, and director Daniel Kaufman.

Our latest work debuting in 2025: Civilisations: Rise and Fall for the BBC.
We serviced the production in Hungary, helping recreate the worlds of Rome, Egypt, Japan’s samurai and the Aztecs with the scale, accuracy and atmosphere these stories demand.

We've had our fair share of epic Christmas campaigns as well: we serviced Deutsche Telekom's "The Message" for Park Village. It was directed by none other than the Emmy and Golden Globe winner Harry Bradbeer and currently it is screened in 10 countries.

We serviced another Christmas TVC for Müpa (one of the leading cultural institutions in the Central European region), where we had the chance to shoot with the Hungarian National Philharmonic - that was a first!

As you can see, 2025 brought a bit of everything. Long-form and commercials. Contemporary and period. Documentary and fiction. Across London, Hungary, Bulgaria and Croatia.
If there’s a story you’re thinking about, a project taking shape, or just an idea worth exploring, you know where to find me.
Wishing you all a fun 2026!
